There are several attractions in Atlanta,Georgia for tourists to visit. Many locals are proud of their state and bursting with pride. One very unique attraction is the Centennial Olympic Park which is a monument documenting the Olympic Games, in 1966. The Olympics took place in Atlanta that year.
Its also a monument for a bombing that occurred while the games where going on. The park is now used to hold special parties or events such as concerts, art or science exhibits, holiday lots, and etc..
The King Center which is a historic landmark, which honors civil rights legend Martin Luther King Jr, and also his spirit by keeping community programs active is also another popular attraction. He believed that a community should help one another and give back to their town.
Also a part of his beloved site is his birthplace and the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Every year hundreds of people travel to this area to see where he grew up and to learn more about him.
For writers, authors, and lovers of one of the most well known novels in he world, "Gone With The Wind", they have the option of visiting the Margaret Mitchell's house. The Center of Southern Literature is now housed there and on most days you can enjoy the readings by some of the best Southern writers around.
