Shopping in Atlanta



Whether you are a local or a tourist, Atlanta has tons of malls and department stores for shoppers. From almost any direction you head in you will find some type of shop.

For locals who are looking to purchase furniture the Atlantic Station has what they need. Its based on the Swedish company IKEA, which creates wonderful furniture. The Atlantic Station has a huge superstore filled with nothing but discount furniture.

For more serious shoppers, or daily shoppers the Lenox Square Mall is the hot spot. Tourists usually swarm Macy's, Neiman Marcus, and Rich's. Phipps Plaza serves the more trendy shoppers which is full of upscale shops including Saks, expensive boutique's including Tory by TRB, Barney's CO-OP, Theory, Jimmy Choo, and Intermix.

The Georgia Mall which is known as the largest entertainment complex and shopping area in the Southeast, is normally packed with shoppers from the time it opens til the time it closes its doors at night.

There are several other malls in the area including those with speciality shops. There are many used car dealerships that surround the shopping centers so if you are in need of a different vehicle there is plenty available. One place that really stands out in Atlanta is the South Dekalb Mall which is for African American shoppers.

This mall is very unique because it does not only have shops, and places to eat but it also hosts talent shows, exercise classes, and even game nights.

They believe in you should hold many community events to get people involved with each other.
